Jeb Bush: Trump ‘should be held to account, just like me’
Trump also mocked Jeb Bush on Twitter Tuesday after the former Florida governor found himself in a deeper mess in trying to explain his “anchor babies” comment as “frankly, more related to Asian people“.
Under the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, citizenship is granted to any child born in the US, irrespective of parentage.
The former Florida governor’s newly added public event in the Texas town, which sits near the southernmost tip of the state, were created to paint a sharp contrast between his immigration reform agenda and the platform outlined last week by presidential rival Donald Trump.
Immigration critics sometimes use “anchor babies” to describe US-born children of illegal immigrants, usually from Latin America. “This must stop. Unaffordable and not right!”
Jeb Bush recently used the words “anchor baby” while discussing immigration.
“In a clumsy move to get out of his “anchor babies” dilemma, where he signed that he would not use the term and now uses it, he blamed ASIANS”, Trump wrote.
Bush said border security extends beyond the land border with Mexico, noting that at least 40 percent of the people in the U.S. illegally came with valid visas. When he walks down the street, King said that people tell him that Trump is the only one really saying what they think. The phrase is considered offensive by many Latinos.
As you can tell by the “you know” that preceded the term, and the “as they’re described” that followed, the words anchor babies didn’t exactly roll off Bush’s tongue.
The same question was asked about Republicans Jeb Bush and Donald Trump.
The New Hampshire primary will be held on February 6 and will be the first full-scale primary vote in the 2016 presidential election campaign. I’m proud of the diversity in my own family. “I was talking about a very narrowcasted system of fraud where people are bringing … pregnant women in to have babies to have birthright citizenship“, he said.
Earlier this year, federal authorities served search warrants on three dozen homes in California as part of an investigation into three businesses that fly Chinese expectant mothers to the United States, put them up in special hotels and deliver their children.
“In 2013, Jeb Bush noted that Asian-Americans are the “canaries in the coal-mine” for Republicans, meaning that Republicans should be anxious about having lost Asian-American support over the years“. “Trump proves you don’t have to be loved by everyone, just by enough Republicans to lead the GOP pack”.
“Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen Asian Americans portrayed as the perpetual foreigner – dismissing our strong American roots, ignoring our contributions and treating us as expendable”, he said.
