Jon Stewart Signs Off From ‘The Daily Show’ One Last Time
As the show opened, Stewart was going to cover the news until his correspondents came by to take one last jab at the host.
“Guess what kind of?”
Stewart says goodbye to The Daily Show on August 6.
However, as another Twitter user said: “Jon Stewart’s last episode of The Daily Show watched by 0 people in NZ – thanks @SKYNZ @comedycentralnz for you fail” [sic]. The band tore through “Land of Hope and Dreams”, which Springsteen said was a request from Stewart and then a brief “Born to Run” as the host, his staff and others flooded the floor in celebration.
It was touching. And in a night of whatever the hell Fox News is calling that two hours, it was damn near moving.
The show was to have screened at just before midnight on Friday having screened earlier in the day in the United States.
Craig Kilborn, who Stewart replaced as the show’s host in 1999, also sent his well-wishes.
Said Glen: “WTF!!!! No finale and nowhere on the coming schedule shows it”.
On his way out the door, Jon Stewart helped raise $2.2 million for an autism charity.
It was as if the entire population of Los Angeles had tuned in to watch him say goodbye.
Stewart, whose handful of extracurricular activities include writing and directing the 2014 drama Rosewater, has kept relatively quiet about his plans, except to say he intends to spend more time with his family. “People will remember this ending to this show forever”.

Taped farewells included Hillary Clinton, who sarcastically joked, “And just when I’m running for president”, and John McCain, who bid Stewart adieu with a hearty “So long, jackass.”Stewart’s successor Trevor Noah also made an appearance”. Might “The Donald” have changed Stewart’s mind?
With thousands of words in tributes being written on his behalf the past few weeks, Stewart hasn’t granted exit interviews.
