Kevin Durant Keeps Tabs On The Redskins During Practice
The First Take co-host ended the rant by saying, “You don’t want to make an enemy out of me”. Smith is just one of many reporters to not only speak highly of Durant’s basketball ability but his character as well.
Durant refuting the rumors is to be expected but personally attacking one of the most respected journalists to cover the league over the last two decades is taking it too far. We’re watching you, man.
Last week, Smith reported on First Take that the Los Angeles Lakers are a team Durant will consider when he hits free agency next summer.
The ethics of Smith’s final statement are sketchy because it suggests he wouldn’t report fairly on Durant because of a personal grudge. “I can’t say enough about how grateful they are and how supportive they are”.
What’s wrong, bro? You seem really defensive. Especially from a player who receives nothing but praise not only from me, but from practically every media member you can find.
Your move, Mr. Durant.
Durant, who will be a free agent after this season, hasn’t commented on Smith’s “threats”, but if this writer had to make an educated guess, Durant’s first response might be similar to everybody else’s – laughter. Time to get use to it. Not to say he is not considering DC, Miami, New York, whatever, that is what I heard. He also said that if he was lying in his initial report about Durant going to the Lakers, Durant should sign a long-term deal with Oklahoma City to prove him wrong. “Are you trying to tell me these large markets are not in play?”
