But she came under fire from Ms Abbott, a supporter of Mr Corbyn and the new Shadow Secretary of State for global Development, who said she was being “sanctimonious” and told her “you’re not the only feminist in the PLP (Parliamentary Labour Party)”.

On the future of the nuclear deterrent, Mr Corbyn insisted he would not let the policy differences tear Labour apart. And judging by what we already know about his educational philosophy, he is going to ruffle some feathers.
He said: “I’m not resigning. Too many young people struggle in Islington and the only option is private rent, which is also so expensive that it’s impossible to save for a house”.
