Lenovo IdeaPad vs Microsoft Surface Pro 4: Fight!

The Google Pixel C is its attempt to derail the iPad Pro.

An optional $149 keyboard turns it into a laptop/tablet convertible that looks a lot like the Microsoft Surface Pro 3.

No word on when the Pixel C will be available – Google claims it will have more to share in the next few months.

With a 2560×1800 screen, the Pixel C should provide ample screen space for both enterprise and entertainment functionality, with a ratio that’s apparently equivalent to A4 paper size.

If however, Apple and Google’s Ultrabets become popular, Google may consider a Chrome OS Pixel C and Apple could always split the difference and add touch to a MacBook Air screen.

How do you feel about the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 4? The same is expected to be true for the Surface Pro 4. Both devices run mobile OSes, Android and iOS, respectively. It houses a Nvidia X1 quad-core processor, Maxwell GPU and 3GB of RAM. The iPad Pro even includes two option accessories made popular by Microsoft’s tablet: a keyboard cover and digitizer pen. The new A9X is said to be 80 percent faster than all the portable PCs released in 2014.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 might come in two versions: a 14- inch giant and a smaller, 12- inch laplet. And here’s where the Pixel C falls short. It features four microphones and a USB-C connection. Rumors even say that there could be a 1 TB Surface Pro 4, but that is still left to be seen. The tablet/laptop hybrid is said to be the most powerful and good-looking one yet. Microsoft’s most affordable Office 365 subscription costs $70 for single user license. You’re looking for the best line-up of ports and the best operating system for staying productive. But a good front-camera helps with video calling features.

Pricing will remain high for the new Surface lineup, so expect the top-of-the-range model to cost more than $2,000. Apple has also launched an attachable Smart Keyboard for the tablet which makes it all the easier to edit documents. I could hold the tablet by the keyboard and felt pretty safe it wouldn’t slip off. When we get it into the lab, we’ll subject it to rougher treatment. Its display performance is almost similar to that of the Surface Pro 3 display. It comes with a keyboard attachment that charges automatically if you closed over the tablet. That adage definitely comes to mind with Microsoft and the situation it finds itself in with the Surface 3.

For now, on paper, the Pixel C looks like a high-end tablet with a detachable keyboard for ease of use.
