Mesut Ozil reveals secret to scoring more Arsenal goals
Louis van Gaal insists that the fitness of Bastian Schweinsteiger is what’s keeping him from playing the full 90 minutes.
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has told the English press to give Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger time to settle in his new team. Known to many as “Mr Bayern Munich” the 31-year-old’s move was a huge surprise.
However, some of the English media have labeled Schweinsteiger “too old” or “not fit” and Ozil says this “drastic interim judgment” is “not fair towards” Schweinsteiger.
While praising the way the club has managed its spending in comparison to their rivals and yet have still remained competitive, Neville suggested that Wenger has either been arrogant or naive to think that he can win a Premier League title with the way he has built this squad and continues to do so. “Just allow him a bit of time”, the 26-year-old is quoted by Sport1 as imploring.
“Basti has shown the whole world at the [2014] World Cup what a leader he is, most of all in the Final”, Ozil added in reference to Schweinsteiger’s battling display against Argentina despite several knocks and a bleeding head wound.
And the World Cup victor has revealed that he is keen to improve his goal-scoring record for the north London club.
The pair were both key men in Germany’s World Cup success in 2014 – and Ozil believes Schweinsteiger has nothing left to prove after his performances in Brazil.
Manchester United’s Schmidfield partnership of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin were all smiles on their way to Brugge this morning ahead of tomorrow night’s crucial Champions League qualifier.
