Microsoft Details New Xbox One Update Features, Now In Preview
According to reports, some of the players experienced connection issues, and the glitches seemed to be console-specific since most of the reported concerns were from Xbox One and 360 players.
After a two-day period of registration and expectation, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) is finally releasing its Windows 10-based update for Xbox One which will arrive on consoles later today. To access this, users can navigate to Social from within their Xbox 360 units. Obviously these will be fixed but the fact that Microsoft are warning ahead of time of possible issues, this is a sign to be wary of simply rushing into this update. Some may see this as a coincidence, but it could be a bold marketing move by Microsoft. The app will now start to show the apps and the games that your friends are currently engaged in when you check your friend’s list.
While much of Microsoft’s attention these days is expectedly paid to Xbox One, that doesn’t mean the company is finished supporting the Xbox 360. That name is a bit misleading though, despite Microsoft itself using the term in its Windows 10 announcement spiel.
The upcoming New Xbox One Experience update will make some system functionality up to 50 per cent faster when it lands in November. The browser also comes with a new page layout for tabs, including links and thumbnails for websites you visit most frequently.
Meanwhile, the post further adds that the UI overhaul will be fully functional and offer speed along with quick navigation, though it’ll “undergo rigorous updating and polishing with the help of our Xbox One preview members”. If you want to track achievement progress in real time while you are playing, you can do that by snapping the Achievement Tracker app.
The biggest selling point of the Xbox Elite controller is that it allows the user to change its parts, swapping out components of the controller in order to optimize for whatever game you’re playing.
There is obviously more that will be included in the New Xbox One Experience but that is a small taste of what you can expect.
