Microsoft Edge is up to 112% faster than Chrome
One of the things that Microsoft has significantly improved in build 10240 is the speed of the browser, and the company says that, in all key benchmarks, Edge performed way better than Google’s Chrome.
Edge browser is way faster than any other browser in current slot, this is what Microsoft is claiming, with weeks left for the global launch of new Operating System from the software giant Windows 10 and the Edge browser will come loaded with the new OS along with voice assistant command Cortana.
Retaining the Internet Explorer’s logo, Edge is said to be faster, leaner and more advanced than the exhausted predecessor.
On Google Octane, Edge is 11% faster than Chrome. Microsoft will continue to offer the old IE 11 browser with desktop versions of Windows 10, mainly so that businesses can keep using legacy web apps without the need to update immediately to support Edge. Although intended for the iOS, Mac, and Windows versions of Safari, which are powered by the Webkit engine, it is popularly used to benchmark browsers across platforms. Microsoft’s disastrous IE6 and the subsequent versions had resulted into a steady decline of Microsoft in the browser market share. In our wild dreams, we hope that Microsoft will release Edge for OSX and Linux flavors as well. A simple test using html5test.com gave Chrome of score of 526 out of 555, with Edge receiving comparatively low score of 402.
