Microsoft is adding mentions and likes to Outlook.com
According to Microsoft, the future of work hinges on the sorts of collaboration that come from using a package of software like Microsoft Office.
Office 365 is a subscription-based plan that offers word processing functionality on the cloud, combining the features of the desktop version and free Web apps. The popularity of these concepts hasn’t gone unnoticed by Microsoft. It has discovered that collaborating is the way of the new workplace.
“By making it possible to work on any device from anywhere, Office 2016 reinvents productivity and unlocks the power of the group, empowering every person and organisation in this region to achieve more through enhanced collaboration”. We took a look at a few of the new and updated features that now appear as part of Office 2016. The new Exchange also includes stability and performance enhancements from Office 365. A very handy feature to have when group-editing documents with such powerful desktop clients such as Word and PowerPoint. This new feature of Office 2016 will save you a lot of time. It is ideal for 5 working family members at home.
I recently sat down with Microsoft’s Director of Office 365 Commercial Communications, Alex Bradley, who walked us through Outlook 2016’s new charms.
So if your boss calls you up to add or amend a document, you can now download lightweight versions of your apps and edit on the move.
No longer do you need to know where a feature lives in the expansive ribbon.
Office now works for you. The Outlook 2016 provides the smartest inbox yet, with lightning-fast searchand automatic removal of low-priority mail. It’s nice not to have to wait for new features. The thumbs up icon is visible in the list view of your emails or inbox. Nobody has to send another message. The tool lets you search, hold, and export content located in public folders.
But the Clutter feature may be Outlook 2016’s most appealing update. Before, if you changed device, this information would not travel with you. You can optionally keep a collaboration pane open on the side of your document. Want to change font to Arial?
Together, the new Office and Windows 10 are the most complete solution for doing.
If all that sounds a bit like Microsoft is trying to woo Google (GOOG) users, you’re right. Dig past the first impressions, however, and you’ll find that Microsoft has devoted a lot of time to rethinking the way it makes Office, and has laid the groundwork for more flexible, responsive and modern programs down the line. With Office 2016, it hit the PC and expanded meaningfully from what we saw in Office 2013. This level of security is unrivalled in any packages out there.
In other words, the average Outlook user won’t be able to get in on the fun until December.
