Microsoft lists flagship Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL online
Both the Lumia 950 and its larger brethren, the Lumia 950 XL, were briefly listed on the Microsoft Store this morning, in the process, confirming many of their leaked technical specifications.
After keeping a quiet disposition on a number of complaints, Microsoft has finally broke its silence in an official statement posted Monday addressing issues of privacy among Windows 10 users. Microsoft is expected to introduce the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL next Tuesday, October 6th. According to leaked specs, there will be a 21 MP PureView camera with optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and optical zoom on board the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950. The Microsoft Lumia 950 is reportedly be priced at €659 ($736, £475) while the Lumia 950 XL at €749 ($837, £540). This is especially true given the fact that even when all personalization features are turned off, Windows 10 sends personally identifiable information associated with Microsoft’s OneDrive to an unknown content delivery network.
There’s been rumor and speculation over the past couple months about what exactly Microsoft might announce.
The Redmond tech giant reiterated that users can always turn these features off at any time.
Paul Thurrott predicted that entry-level Windows 10 devices from Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) would use Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) x86 Atom processors this year.
What this means is that Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 will also be present, assuming a compatible charger is bundled with the retail packaging.
“From the very beginning, we designed Windows 10 with two straightforward privacy principles in mind: Windows 10 collects information so the product will work better for you”, Myerson said.
While Microsoft has still left a few questions unanswered about the privacy features of their new Windows 10 operating system, they appear to be open to feedback and actively working to improve the system.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have iris scanners that let users log in without having to enter a passcode.
