Microsoft Opens Three Local Data Centres In India

The mission of Azure Container Service, according to Microsoft, is to allow organizations “to easily deploy and configure a Mesos container cluster to manage and scale Dockerized applications across multiple virtual hosts”.

Schutz said that Microsoft IoT Suite, its cloud security center and the open source that it’s incorporated into its container orchestration illustrate how the company is “providing customer choice in how they set up these solutions”. They will now be able to extend their existing IT infrastructure and private clouds to Microsoft local (public) cloud, thereby creating compelling hybrid cloud scenarios and reducing their cost of IT operations significantly. “One of the best parts is that we could deploy non-Microsoft solutions (based on Linux, Oracle, MySQL) seamlessly on the platform”, he said.

The company will also train the entrepreneurs on cloud computing and mobility technology.

In addition, Microsoft will also launch Office 365 services in October 2015, with Dynamics CRM Online services to follow in the first half of 2016 in India.

With the new service, Microsoft is running slightly behind its cloud archrival, Amazon Web Services, which announced support for DCOS in June. Current partners include BeagleBone, Freescale Intel Corporation, Raspberry Pi, Resin.io, Seeed Technology Inc., and Texas Instruments Inc.

Microsoft has certified the ARM mbed Enabled Freescale® FRDM-K64F development board for Internet of Things (IoT) products that securely gather and channel data into the public cloud platform, Microsoft Azure.

Including the three new Indian “regions”, or data centers, that Microsoft is opening up to customers today, there are 24 Azure regions worldwide.

Microsoft India on Tuesday said that it is launching its commercial cloud services from local data centres in India.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is expanding the availability of Azure into India, claiming that it is the first public cloud provider in the country. Customers today are looking for greater control, transparency and protection across their cloud infrastructure and assets.

Rob Bearden, CEO at Hortonworks added: “Hortonworks and Microsoft have partnered closely over many years to further the Hadoop platform for big data analytics, including contributions to YARN, Hive, and other Apache projects”. He said the Azure Container Service would be available in preview before the end of this year.

Now, Microsoft is also throwing its hat in the ring with the announcement of its N-series virtual machines. Applications need to be specially optimized in order to take full advantage of the framework’s capabilities, a complicated undertaking that makes it less attractive for existing workloads and smaller experiments than the easier-to-use Kubernetes.

Applied Innovations customers also have the ability to leverage Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for economical data redundancy. This new program will go into effect December 1.
