Microsoft’s Xbox One DVR Feature Won’t Work Without External Hard Drive

In one of the biggest announcements from Microsoft at Gamerscom, plans were revealed to release an entirely new and updated dashboard in November that will come complete with Windows 10.

The new Activity Feed for Xbox 360 will enable Xbox 360 users to like, comment, and share what their friends are doing and playing. The game’s producer, David Jones, has told VideoGamer in an interview that the 100% destructible environments of Crackdown 3’s multiplayer mode will require four times the network bandwidth of an ordinary online game.

Another tool that users will need to purchase if they want to get the most out of their DVR will be a digital TV tuner. Coming this for Xbox One and Windows 10, the new Chatpad is available for pre-order today.

Backward compatibility. At the E3 video game conference earlier this year, Microsoft announced that Xbox 360 games would run on Xbox One. The good folks over at DualShockers captured the cloudless beauty of the new Xbox One consoles and controllers with every little detail, showing how they look in the flesh.

The collector’s edition of Halo 5: Guardians is also included in the package, and this comes with two special DLC packs, along with Agent Locke’s Spartan armor set that you can use during gameplay.

According to Xbox Chief Phil Spencer, the new collection will include the best games in Xbox History. The original Xbox One was released with only 500 GB of internal storage, and of that, only about 360 GB is usable.

Microsoft recently partnered with Seagate to announce a 2 TB external hard drive designed specifically for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
