Microsoft To Acquire Adallom For $320M
Microsoft has confirmed its biggest Israeli investment ever with the acquisition of cloud security company Adallom for 0 million (£205 million).
Adallom, which develops cloud security platforms, is expected to become the center for Microsoft’s cyber security business in Israel, the newspaper said.
Adallom was founded in 2012 has 80 employees at its offices in Israel and the United States. The reports also suggest Microsoft is planning to open a cyber security centre in the region using some of the local talent it has acquired.

When former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer made a visit to Israel several years ago, the now excitable Clippers owner stated that the software giant is “almost as Israeli” as it is American. Other key partners include Salesforce, Amazon Web Services and Google, as well as Microsoft’s Office cloud service.
Adallom concentrates on securing data stored in the cloud, and seems to focus on enterprise solutions ahead of consumer-facing products. Adallom claims that you can deploy its software onto your network, in less than 8 minutes.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but reports cite the acquisition to be worth at least $60 million.
N-trig developed the Surface Pen stylus technology used with Microsoft’s Surface Pro devices.
Equivio, which specializes in machine learning technologies, was acquired to enable Microsoft to “help our customers tackle the legal and compliance challenges inherent in managing large quantities of e-mail and documents”, according to company blog post in January.
It offers users information security technology on remote servers.
