Microsoft to Bring out the Big Guns at Gamescom
There’s going to be an “Xbox FanFest” (something that was a huge success at E3 this year) where a lucky group of fans get to have some Xbox alone time. Xbox on Windows 10 adds hubs for PC games downloaded through the Windows Store. There will also be a list of Windows 10 Xbox app capabilities, including game streaming via an Xbox One console.
Game hubs – You can now launch a local PC game from its game hub, view details about the game in the Windows Store, and find and follow People to Watch for a given game. Last week, the company was running a promotion that offered anyone that purchased an Xbox One an additional free game.
For a limited time, Xbox One fans can pre-order Fallout 4 and receive a Fallout 3 code for Xbox 360, which will be delivered to your Xbox message centre in 7-10 days. From enhanced sharing functions, to the ability to create a Xbox account, and interact better with games, new things are now live in the latest OS preview version. Game streaming will be started via the Xbox on Windows 10 app on a tablet or PC using the same home network. Microsoft will also introduce the Take a Photo feature which will allow gamers to take a photo of their avatar. It expressed its appreciation of the consumers’ patience while they are fine-tuning the feature. When the Windows 10 release date arrives later this month, every Windows PC that upgrades or comes with the operating system will be treated like an Xbox console. “Cortana” an “intelligent personal assistant” gets bits of user interface improvements and can respond to the user’s voice with “Hey Cortana” commands. The preview version should automatically roll out once it is released in the Windows Store. “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock”.
Microsoft teased that there will be a number of other surprises at the show.
