Mike Huckabee: Obama’s Gay-Inclusive Pope Event Proves He’s ‘Pretending’ To Be
According to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who is a Republican presidential candidate, President Barack Obama is pretending to be a Christian, and is not treating Pope Francis’ visit with respect (video below).
The pope will land in Washington, D.C., Tuesday afternoon where he will be greeted by President and Mrs. Obama.
“President Obama has stacked the deck against Pope Francis by allowing the inviting of an “A list” of infamous American Catholics to meet the Holy Father when he arrives in the United States“, they wrote.
A senior Vatican official told the WSJ that the Holy See feared any photos of the pope with the controversial guests could be interpreted as an endorsement of their activities.
Huckabee noted that he is not particularly concerned with theoretical candidates, at this point.
Even Carson shied away from suggesting Obama is anything but the Christian he professes to be; however, Huckabee’s bold statement has earned him some social media praise.
Huckabee also reiterated his claim that “this administration supports the criminalization of Christianity in America”, using the example of Kim Davis – who was jailed for failing to follow a judge’s order, not for being a Christian bigot.
“I’m less concerned about what faith the person has”. “If a person says, “I’m a Christian” but you invite the pope into your home and then you invite a whole bunch of people who are at odds with the Catholic church policy, I think there’s something very unseemly about that”.
“Welcoming a pro-life, pro-marriage leader at the White House with a crowd of abortion and gay rights activists is as classy as hosting an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting with an open bar”, he said. “Secondly, the president and I have never had any kind of confrontation like that”.
Hey Mike he never pretended to be your brand of Christian…
