Ministers List: No surprise, Buhari would have submitted them at Eagle Square
Speaking on the vote of confidence, Chairman, Senate ad-hoc committee on Media and publicity, Senator Dino Melaye said that 83 Senators who endorsed the leadership of the Senate was the expression of confidence the lawmakers reposed on their leadership. Buhari needto be reminded that his loyalty is to Nigeria and not to an individual or a group of people who he perceived to have contributed more to his emergence as President. The fact that Ndume contested for the post of Deputy Senate President and at that time and he sought the support of most senators made it easy for him to get our support.
“The Office of the Deputy President of the Senate wishes to bring to the knowledge of the public a few clandestine efforts by desperate political elements to publish false and defamatory information against the office and person of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu”.
“In any case, Senator Lawan never told anybody that he was interested in the post of majority leader”.
The Senator further added that many people erroneously over-rate the powers of the Senate President in making certain decisions in the Senate. He represents one district like every other senator. I have also been reliably informed by insiders that the allegations being peddled around Bukola Saraki is a well crafted coup d’etat to install Lawan who is from the “core-North” as Senate President to ensure an easier ministerial screening. All seem to be going “rosy” in the party until different vested interests started angling to take charge of the leadership of the legislative arm of government.
“While we advise patriotic Nigerians to be on the lookout for such misinformation and regard them as the puerile propaganda that they are, we want to assure them that just like the phantom alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Rules, this too will surely fail”, he said.
ABUJA, Sept 29 Nigeria is struggling with an unprecedented economic crisis due to a plunge in oil revenues undermining the state’s ability to provide even basic services, Senate President Bukola Saraki said on Tuesday. “Saraki has nothing against Lawan and I think, my brother Ahmed Lawan understands this”, Misau said.
