New information in Hillary Clinton email scandal
The arrangement with IT specialist Bryan Pagliano helped Mrs Clinton maintain her personal control over the server and ensure taxpayers were not paying for its upkeep, The Washington Post said, citing an unnamed campaign official.
Though the former Secretary of State, Ms Clinton, continues to claim that her use of a private email server was not a problem, and that messages were classified later, not at the time they were originally sent.
Now she’s sorry… that you’re too stupid to understand why a top government official would want to run her own email server with classified information and poor security that she then wiped.
The Post reports the Clintons paid Pagliano $5,000 for “computer services” prior to him joining the State Department, according to a 2009 financial disclosure form he filed. “Hillary Clinton released emails confirm she watched ‘Parks And Recreation, ‘” Lowe Tweeted along with the hash tags “good taste” and “no secret“.
Clinton said that while she should have behaved differently, she had done nothing wrong.
The state department has been releasing tranches from Clinton’s estimated 55 000-page e-mail archive, raising the issue anew with every batch.
It’s not known exactly when or who “wiped” Clinton’s personal email server.
Pagliano was the IT director for Clinton’s unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign and went to work for the State Department when Clinton took up the Cabinet post in the Obama administration.
The article also mentioned Pagliano’s threats of invoking the Fifth Amendment, but added that the Judiciary Committee is considering offering the staffer immunity in return for his testimony.
Rep. Adam Schiff, a Democratic member of the House Benghazi panel, penned aNew York Times op-ed that calls for the dissolution of the committee, calling it a partisan tool to attack Clinton’s White House candidacy.
State Department officials have declined to explain which agency officials knew about Clinton’s server and whether any had raised questions or concerns about how it was being handled. “I did all my business on my personal email [in the Senate]”, she said.
“I actually don’t, because it takes a lot of work to install a private server system in your basement”, Fiorina said.
Clinton, in her Friday interview, attempted to stay above the political fray, even as she chastised Republican frontrunner Donald Trump for risky “loose talk” on the campaign trail about, among others, her top aide, Huma Abedin.
In her second national broadcast interview of the 2016 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton sat down with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell to try and set the record straight on the email controversy swirling around her for months.
Clinton’s presidential campaign has said they encouraged Pagliano to testify.
The FBI is investigating whether Clinton’s private email server contained classified information.
“I certainly wish I had made a different choice, and I know why the American people have questions about it and I wanted to make sure that I answer those questions”. “I do regret that he’s going after so many people, many of them by name”.
