New report reveals Office 2016 for Windows release date
Microsoft has been putting the buffers on the Office 2016 release for Windows 10 in order for the touch versions to be brand new when Windows 10 Mobile finally gets its release at around the same time as the producitivity suite.
The popular Microsoft Office 2016 will launch late next month, at least according to screenshots of reportedly leaked internal websites.
The brand-new Microsoft Office 2016 will see daylight on September 22, according to an email that Redmond’s executive team sent to company employees, but it’s not yet clear if the company is planning a special event in this regard or it simply wants to start selling the software. The Office 2016 suite has been specifically designed for touchscreen users in mind, basically anyone on a smartphone, tablet or computer with a touchscreen monitor.
“On September 22, 2015, we’ll release Office 2016 – with updates for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Skype For Business, Project, Visio, Access and Publisher”, the statement from WinFuture wrote. The Mac version of 2016 was released on 9 July of this year, as reported by IBN Live.
Microsoft has not declared the pricing model of Office 2016 till now. There will be a new theme to make the apps look like their iOS, Android and OS X equivalents, along with a dark theme for something a little easier on the eyes.
The leaked image also says that the new Office 365 variant, E5, and Skype for Business are due in “Q2”.
The most significant adjustment in Word is the facility for real-time co-authoring inside Office 016’s desktop version.
The full version of Office 2016 for Mac was also made available in early July for active Office 365 subscribers.
