Nigerian president, Obama to meet at White House
Jonathan was defeated in the March election by former military dictator Muhammadu Buhari.

The group has targeted civilians in Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, and Chad, abducted hundreds of women and girls, forcibly conscripted young men and boys, and destroyed villages, towns, and schools. He specifically reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption.
Three decades on, Nigeria is yet to recover billions of dollars illegally siphoned off to US banks and businesses. If DOJ’s recent indictment against officials of the Federation of global Football Association is any guide, the USA could easily catch Nigerians in the United States, who have enriched themselves using an ill-gotten wealth. This is an exceptional turnout for Washington, D.C.in July and with Congress in recess.
“On both issues of tackling insurgency and corruption in Nigeria, we look forward to how the United States can partner Nigeria to become an outstanding role model for developing countries”, President Obama said. Buhari praised Obama for demanding that the Nigerian election be transparent and fair.
