Only NDA can develop Bihar, foil jungle raj: Modi
Modi hit out at his arch-rival Kumar for not fulfilling his poll promise to provide power to every village in the state, without naming him in his speeches.
“I wonder why BJP has given such a big responsibility to Shah who must have learnt bad things from jail going by the PM’s inference from public platform”, he said.
He said that he came to know about Kovind’s appointment as governor through media while he was in the national capital to attend a function yesterday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the sharpest attack on the Lalu Prasad-Nitish Kumar alliance, saying the deadly alliance between the two leaders – one representing the “Jungle Raj” and the other “political betrayal” respectively – would do no good to Bihar. “There is a strong possibility of destruction and disaster if jungle raj part-II returns to Bihar“. “There was a jungle-raj in Bihar for over 15 years”.
In a direct attack on the Janata Dal (United), Prime Minister Narendra had earlier said that the former stands for “Janata ka Daman aur Utpidan” (subjugation and torture of people).
Invoking a mixture of state pride and its failure to keep up with other smaller states that had raced far ahead of it, Modi criticised the successive state governments which he said were responsible for Bihar still being in the Bimaru category.
“Today, the per capita power consumption in a tiny state like Sikkim is 1000 kw, while in Bihar it is a meagre 150 kw”.
Nitish Kumar insisted that Bihar was no more a BIMARU state. “Those who looted you for the past 25 years want another opportunity from you. The NDA Government wants the development and progress in the eastern part of the country”, he added.
“If you bring us to power, I assure you that within 5 years, I will bring out Bihar from being a sick state”, Modi promised. “They need technical education and skill development”.
Continuing to take potshots on Modi, Prasad said that the PM should have given details of the work done in his one-year-and-three-months tenure. “We see a Bihari IAS officer in nearly every corner of the country”, he said. “But vote bank politics here prevent this development”.
“That helped the police crack the Bodh Gaya blasts case too”. At the same time, the Prime Minister did not fail to ignite hopes of development and aspirations of prosperity in the hearts of electorates.
