PGA Championship: Tiger Woods Struggles, Shoots Three-Over 75
“I made it abundantly clear our intentions”.

Steinberg declined to say what factors would go into the decision.
“Probably one of the worst putting rounds I’ve had in a very long time”, said Woods, whose three-over round included five bogeys and left him nine off the early clubhouse lead of Dustin Johnson.
If Woods were to pack his bags early after two rounds, then he will have missed three consecutive major championship cuts this season, marking the first time in his historic career that he has done so. Woods simply entered the tournament by the Friday night deadline, but the word “committed” is the official term.
Most of it, though, would be in overseas events, and not where the top players will be competing. But these commitments are not binding. He ended up with par on a hole where many players are making birdie.
Woods, 39, is in the midst of his worst year as a professional.
He is now ranked 186th in the standings, and only the top 125 make it. Chances are, he won’t do anything to improve his standing this week.
The 14-time major victor is apparently serious about getting his swing correct because he’ll make a start at a lower-tier event that he’d previously never considered playing.
He needed 20 putts to get through the first 13 greens – a better rate than Thursday, when he putted a total of 33 times and was asking, to no one in particular, “How bad am I putting?” with an expletive thrown in there, too. “We just want to see how it goes over the next few days”.
He did confirm, however, that he will play in next week’s Wyndham Championship event on the PGA Tour as he continues to rebuild his game. If that happens, this would mark the first time in his career he’s missed three straight cuts at a major. His putting got a little bit better. The American is projected to miss the cut – at this stage by just one shot – after following his opening 75 with a 72.
Daly, whose fame began when he won the PGA as the ninth alternate in 1991, opened the day on No. 10 with a bogey, got to even par with a birdie on the par-16th, but made double on No. 18. The Englishman, like the leaders, was five under for the day with one hole to play.
