Pic Speak: PM Modi comes Bihar with gifts of box
By making a statement over the DNA of Nitish Kumar, the Prime Minister has insulted the blood of the people of Bihar. A senior leader indicated that AAP may campaign against the BJP without supporting any party so that the secular alliance benefits from it.
Nitish mounted a counter attack on PM Narendra Modi for his questionable DNA remark and said this was a slur on the son of a freedom fighter.
After all, Nitish Kumar was having a dream run in Bihar when BJP started pitching Narendra Modi as their prime ministerial candidate in the summer of 2013.
Nitish Kumar still has the best governance credentials in Bihar, being the best known chief minister, who is rightly credited for turning around Bihar and transforming the state from being a hopeless island into a land of opportunities.
Shatrughan’s meeting with Nitish, however, kicked up a row since he had praised the Chief Minister’s abilities and hailed him as the biggest Vikas Purush (development man). “Unless Bihar is developed, the country can not be developed”.
Modi took a dig at Lalu for his comments about “drinking poison”, which was made in an apparent reference to his accepting Kumar’s leadership.
This can be done only by persuading Yadavs to switch over to the BJP because Lalu and his party have now left them in the lurch and sided with Nitish Kumar. “I totally agree with Nitish ji that if the (Lok Sabha) polls (in 2004) had taken place six months later (than April-May), the work could have been completed then only,”.
He said that during the last polls, Kumar had asserted that if he was unable to provide electricity to entire Bihar, he would not come to ask for votes again in 2015.
“Let me tell you that I do not hanker after any post or position”, he said.
They said the party can not extend direct support to the secular alliance led by Kumar due to presence of RJD’s Yadav, a convict in the fodder scam, and Congress against whom AAP fought the Delhi polls. The chief minister said that Bihar maintained a 10 per cent growth rate at fixed prices during the period 2005-15.
“Nitishji said he has high hopes from our government, we are working towards fulfilling the states’ needs by increasing allocation to states”.
