Planned Parenthood asks Florida court for emergency ruling
A week ago Sunday, Heather Saunders Estes, CEO and president of Planned Parenthood’s Northern California chapter, told Phil Matier of KPIX 5, “What we do is legal and ethical and we’re proud of it”.
The two organizations argue that should Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading abortion provider, be stripped of its taxpayer funding, the federal money could be absorbed by any of these other clinics. “This is nothing more than political theater”. Until the new rules are made public, Planned Parenthood Arizona can not comment whether we will oppose or challenge them. More than half of Planned Parenthood’s health centers are in rural or medically underserved areas; Planned Parenthood is the only place for many low-income women to get medical care. “This includes their affiliated organization, Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma”, Hutchinson said.
The group has also been active on the ground. With his supporters, he doesn’t have to. In Iowa, Republican Sen. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell thanking them for their vote backing the group.
Monday’s request comes after state health officials inspected 16 Planned Parenthood facilities and said three were performing second-trimester abortions when they licensed to perform first-trimester abortions.
Planned Parenthood is seeking a court order against state health regulators for accusing three Southwest Florida clinics of performing unlawful abortions which has caused women to face delays receiving medical care, according to court records.
At issue are the details of a 2006 regulation by AHCA, which defines the first trimester as the first 12 weeks after egg fertilization, or the first 14 weeks after the pregnant woman’s last menstrual period. “While we value our relationship with Planned Parenthood, that work represents a small percentage of our overall business activity and we must focus our limited resources on resolving these inquiries”.
In fact, Planned Parenthood is one of the largest providers. Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.) and Ted Cruz (Texas), both Republican presidential hopefuls, have said they will push amendments to cut off the group’s federal funding.
Unfortunately, Planned Parenthood knows this. Schaeffer, a former managing editor for The Washington Times National Weekly, spotlighted how Planned Parenthood’s “surprisingly close ties to major media corporations can help explain why leading disseminators of the news in the U.S. have shown so little interest in the [fetal organ harvesting] controversy“. “A lot of people consider it an abortion clinic”, Trump told NBC’s Chuck Todd. “I have viewed the videos and find them abhorrent. And they have to stop”.
Public reaction to the videos has compelled lawmakers in Washington to attempt to defund Planned Parenthood, so far with no success.
He also addressed allegations that he had used aborted fetal tissue during his medical career, saying, “All pathology departments will have a whole array of tissues, from day one of conception until 99 years old”. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) introduced the bill in June and the House has already passed similar legislation.
