PM Modi to go full steam in Bihar on return from US
“Even as some disgruntled elements were making some wild allegations including ‘sale of tickets”, Singh’s offensive came as a shock to the party.
Claiming that BJP leaders in Bihar are “upset” over ticket distribution, Singh today said he was just putting forth the stance of the party workers.
He also served as the Principal Secretary in the Bihar Road Construction Department during the first term of Nitish government between 2004 and 2009.
The “grand alliance” of JD(U), RJD and Congress is pitted against a coalition of BJP, LJP, RLSP and HAM in Bihar.
“Anti-incumbency is strongly against JDU, while people of Bihar have still not forgotten the poor state of law during RJD’s tenure”, said a bookies.
The BJP on Friday dubbed Rahul Gandhi “spoiled child” of Indian politics and said the Congress was behaving with “complete irresponsibility” under his overall leadership.
“Modi will not fulfil promises made to people and he will try to change the constitutional provision for reservation to other issues“, he said.
“People of Bihar or people of India are never taken in by the misunderstanding or political misuse. Hence, we will support him in the election”, he said here. It is not that only criminals can win elections.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Bihar and the individuals of this state have plenty of hope from him(PM Modi)”. Though there are several BJP leaders at many layers of seniority who are upset with Singh’s unprovoked remarks, any disciplinary action against Singh at this stage will keep the issue alive and may give bad publicity for the party. He also highlighted that the BJP has attacked the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-Janata Dal United (JDU) for “jungle raj” in Bihar but by giving tickets to known criminals, it is projecting itself as no different from the Nitish Kumar-Lalu Prasad combine.
Citing Bihar model of governance under Kumar to counter the Prime Minister’s campaign in the state, the party also claimed that while the state under Kumar has gone forward in last ten years, the 16-month rule of Modi as Prime Minister has seen counting “lagging in every field”. “It is his personal view”.
