Podolski backs Arsenal for title challenge
The start to Podolski’s Emirates career was solid, but it didn’t take too long for him to lose his place in the starting line-up, it didn’t affect his attitude toward Arsenal though.
Galatasaray have announced the signing of Lukas Podolski from Arsenal.
Having made 82 appearances for the north London club – in which he notched a rather commendable 31 goals – Podolski had adored himself to the Arsenal fans that was helped by his exuberant personality and likeable character, and a number of supporters were sad to see him leave even if it was in the best interests of the Germany worldwide.
Following his departure from the Emirates Stadium, Lukas Podolski has tipped Arsenal to challenge for the Premier League title.
As Podolski is not exactly a creative player – he is decent creatively, however it is not his strength – he is better suited to playing at the top end of the field, getting on the end of chances and being the man putting them away – he couldn’t do that effectively from such a deep position.
A drop off every season to the point where Podolski went from a regular first-teamer to nothing more than a bit-part player for the Gunners is a fate such a star really should not have suffered. “We would surely not be world champions if we had started the tournament with 20 players that don’t get to play regularly at their club”. “It was no disadvantage that I was on holiday in Turkey anyway so I could be at Istanbul to sign the contract within 45 minutes”.
Although Podolski had not originally planned to change clubs this summer, he is looking forward to the future with Galatasaray.
“Istanbul is a world metropolis and Galatasaray has a very good name in world football”. I am confident that next season the team will be challenging for that league title and I will be watching on as a fan!
