Rihanna Covers The FADER’s 100th Issue
(Radio.com) Rihanna is featured on the cover of The Fader magazine’s 100th issue, taking on the dual role of cover subject and photographer for the magazine. “Today there are fewer music magazines than ever, which makes The FADER’s job bigger, and means we are more responsible than ever for contextualizing the work of major artists like Drake and Rihanna“.
The pop star collaborated with photographer Renata Raksha for the shoot, in which Rihanna is captured as she sees herself.
She accessorizes the look with heaps of gold jewelry and low-maintenance hair, but it’s her feet that demand your attention. Yes, OK, the Creeper – the debut style of her Puma by Rihanna Collection and Fenty label – only just hit stores last week.
In the accompanying story, writer Mary H.K. Choi reveals that Rihanna only allowed five questions to be emailed for the story.
Styled by Shibon Leigh, the “Diamonds” singer looks pared-down on the cover wearing a “90s-inspired slip dress from A Wave Awake layered over a baby pink Rochas shirt”.
“All photos of Rihanna, at this point in her career, have layers of artifice”, Naomi Zeichner, editor-in-chief of The FADER says.
The beauty from Barbados joins Drake in the cover of the 100th issue of Fader, as we reported recently.
