Lewis Hamilton had us all excited at the idea of a new Formula 1/pop star super couple when rumours started circulating that he was dating Rihanna earlier this summer.

Rihanna and Nicole Scherzinger’s ex, Lewis Hamilton, were snapped as the race auto driver accompanied RiRi to her hometown in Barbados for some watersports. News correspondent Zuri Hall asked Lewis about those rumors on the red carpet of the MTV VMAs on Sunday, Hamilton handled it like a pro.

Last month, it had been considered the love story between Rihanna and Lewis was hotting up, however an insider said the singer was not in a rush to place a label on it.

They sparked rumors when he joined her in her native Barbados for their annual carnival, however, she was also linked to Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema at the time.

The news comes just weeks after Rihanna put National Basketball Association star Matt Barnes on blast for suggesting that he has an ongoing relationship with the “Diamonds” singer.

While Rihanna continues to remain mum regarding the rumors surrounding her alleged romance with the Formula One driver, Hamilton is dishing on the status of his relationship with Rihanna.
