Rihanna: Why I won’t join Taylor Swift on stage
Taylor Swift’s had a whole encyclopedia’s worth of musicians and other celebs joining her on stage during her 1989 tour, with everyone from Justin Timberlake to the World Cup Champions U.S. Women’s Soccer National Team getting involved.
At one time, Rihanna used to put one album out a year (Do we actually remember when we had the pleasure of new RiRi music once a year?) so there IS the possibility that she could drop the album this November as it has been rumoured.
“I don’t think I would, I just don’t think it makes sense”, Rihanna explained.
“I don’t think our brands are the same: I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same”.
Young girls should not look up to Taylor Swift because she is not fit to be an icon or a role model.
“A lot of stars you can see maybe not wanting to kind of share the spotlight and not wanting to necessarily have other people up there with her, but Taylor’s thrilled to do that”, said Josh Duboff, who interviewed Swift for the cover of Vanity Fair’s September issue.
“I don’t like to use that word because people have their own opinion on what that means to them”.
“I don’t think our brands are the same”.
While Taylor has yet to collaborate with her boyfriend Calvin Harris on a track, Rihanna has – the pair recorded the hit We Found Love together in 2011.
At the same show, Swift performed a duet with Emmy victor and “Orange is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba, marking her second appearance on the singer’s tour. Anyone you don’t know from that list? “Mostly what I wanted was for people to get it”. “I think she’s an inspiration to a lot of other female artists”.
