Samsung launches Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+
While hardcore fans of keeping every bit of their data on one device will be loathe to accept this new wave of lesser storage on the big device, Samsung wont likely be quick to change a tune. The device is part of Samsung’s Galaxy Note “phablet” series. Opening it for the first time, our eyes feast on the plastic wrapped Galaxy S6 edge+.
It was a Note-worthy day for technology enthusiasts the world over as Samsung released two new large-screen smartphones at the Samsung Unpacked event in Lincoln Centre here. Either way, these phones already have some official accessories like the keyboard cover, which was mentioned during the presentation, others were seen where they showcased the new phones.
“I think yes, these new designs from Samsung, these are absolutely fantastic new smartphones that absolutely beat Apple in almost every factor right now”.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ have been launched with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop onboard.
The S6 Edge Plus has a curved screen on one side of the phone and is set to cost over €800 in Ireland. Instead, Samsung will build an ecosystem through which merchants can provide offers and loyalty programs to their customers.
A US appeals court will not reconsider an earlier decision finding that Samsung violated Apple patents.
The fingerprint authentication can be used with the Samsung Pay service, planned to launch soon in Korea and the US. AT&T, for instance, is making available the 32 GB Note 5 for no money down on the AT&T Next plan with payments starting at $24.67 per month for 30 months.
The company will also launch the Samsung Gear 2, a smartwatch that will be unveiled on September 3 in Berlin.
While the S6 Edge+ isn’t much of a step up over the S6 Edge, we wonder if it’ll offer a better experience than the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus or even Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra.
Samsung has lost more than $43-billion in market value from the year’s peak in March after posting its fifth straight quarterly profit decline.
