Samsung to launch world’s first foldable smartphone early next year
Allegedly, the handset is being tested in two Snapdragon configurations, one in a Snapdragon 620 SoC and the other more powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset.
Since then, SamMobile reported at the end of May that the “dual screen, possibly foldable” early-stage device is known internally as Project Valley or Project V.
Going back to a statement they made past year , it has been in the buzz that Samsung may be finally working on a foldable display for the upcoming Galaxy S7. It also hints at a January unveiling, though this may not mean that it actually goes on sale then.
Plans for the phone with the LG display are said to be still under development, and there’s no word on which company placed the order, but it’s described as a “global software business” hoping to challenge Samsung and Apple in the premium smartphone space. However, the Korean manufacturer has filed patents for foldable gadgets and on Thursday, September 10, some news leaked about it.
Samsung, which launched the primary telephone with a show that curves on each side, the, in March, confirmed off a prototype for a telephone that opens right into a pill in 2013. Earlier information described “Project Valley” as sporting an extremely thin plastic screen display instead of traditional glass, which would allow users to bend the phone at impossible angles without it shattering. It can prove to be durable and can endure longer as its display is protected when folded.
