Sanders dings Bush on work, ducks personal
“I never remember her saying, ‘wait a minute, President Obama, you promised to do immigration reform, honor your promise.’ She didn’t say a word”.
Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., chairman of the Benghazi panel, said Wednesday he had “no choice” but to make the subpoena public “in order to correct the inaccuracy” of Clinton’s claim. “Clinton%20Subpoena%20-%202015.03.04.pdf” >link to the actual subpoena. But as I glanced through the rest of the bullet items in NBC’s First Read this morning, there was one thing which jumped out at me.
Clinton’s statement seems like an obvious contradiction.
Since announcing her candidacy in April, Clinton has campaigned on a platform that could charitably be described as generic: mildly populist rhetoric about the challenges to the middle class, but few specific policies – mostly positions she’s held since 2008, such as a higher minimum wage. You’re not going to get me to pick one or the other.
If we look at just the Republican vs Republican numbers, Jeb is in the lead.
“I’m going to talk about comprehensive immigration reform”, she promised Tuesday.
KEILAR: Wearing warm socks, you said to John Podesta. “There’s nothing, again. Let’s take a deep breath here”. “I’ve never had a subpoena”, Clinton said when asked about whether it was right to delete emails while facing a subpoena.
Though Clinton may not have directly answered some questions, instead assuring that she has plans to formally address topics such as her economic proposals (she’ll be making a speech next week) and that she stands behind her behavior in the great email debacle, she definitely asserted that she has complete confidence in the American people. “In fact, Gowdy did not issue a subpoena until March, months after she’d done that review”.
Now I didn’t have to turn over anything.
Evidently unable to contain her journalistic curiosity on this subject, Keilar then asked Clinton: “Who’s the better Hillary Clinton, Kate McKinnon or Amy Poehler?” “Hillary R. Clinton and served by agreement on March 4, 2015″, Kendall wrote at the time.
In addition, Merrill said, the subpoena pertained specifically to Benghazi-related documents that Clinton “had already given to the Department of State”. The Sanders, O’Malley, and Webb campaigns did not return requests for comment on the state of debate negotiations. By her own admission she did not delete or destroy emails until the fall of 2014, well after this Committee had been actively engaged in securing her emails from the Department of State. The 2,500 people who attended his rally in Council Bluffs were believed to be the largest crowd a candidate from either party has drawn in the state.
All true enough I suppose. It’s not a bigger lie than the claim there was no rule forbidding her from using a homebrew server exclusively for her government business, of course, and she keeps telling that whopper too.
Hillary Clinton and her campaign are reportedly feeling the “Bern” when it comes to outside candidate Bernie Sanders.
They should be very familiar with the timeline here, as well.
“The suggestion was made that a subpoena was pending at the time”.
