Sheena murder: Mukerjea submits written statement

Earlier, in a major breakthrough Raigarh police had recovered a suitcase in which allegedly Sheena’s body was carried before it was disposed off in the jungle. The sister/mother told everyone that Sheena had moved to the US.

Police said that they received an anonymous tip-off several months ago that Miss Bora had been murdered and Mrs Mukerjea was involved.

Mikhail, Indrani’s son has stated that he is waiting for his mother to confess her sins and has confirmed that he has “no doubt my mother Indrani killed my sister Sheena Bora”.

Early next week, police intend to recreate the entire crime scene – from a spot near the National College in Bandra’s Linking Road to Raigad and back to Mumbai airport – that took place on April 24, 2012, when Sheena was murdered, allegedly by Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai.

Khanna, who was arrested in Kolkata, was remanded in police custody till August 31 after being charged with murder, kidnapping and other offences.

Indrani is suspected to have plotted Sheena’s killing and the disposal of her body along with her second husband, Sanjeev Khanna, in a forested area near Mumbai in 2012.

Police said they want to recover the object with which Sheena was killed and also the vehicle in which she was abducted and taken to the forest in Pen.

Another important person who was questioned for possible clues to the murder was Mikhail, brother of Sheena, who was brought from Guwahati.

In case a crime is committed in the limits of village, he makes immediate report to the police station and renders necessary help to the police officer to detect the offender.

Coming to Mikhail Bora’s revelation, police interrogated him on Friday and took him to unidentified location. currently, he is one of the witnesses in the case and also it remains to be seen his complicity or ignorance in the case as is Peter Mukerjea’s.

His son Rahul Mukerjea was extensively grilled by police for two days over his alleged relationship with Sheena, his step sister.

Gunjan Mangla, the lawyer representing Indrani Mukerjea, didn’t immediately reply to an e-mail seeking comment and a phone call to her office. Police have also asked telecom service providers for the call records between 2012-2015 of all the three accused in the murder case.

Meanwhile, intriguingly, Khanna had purportedly shared a photo in mid-2014 with a message “grandchildren are the reward you get for not strangling your teenagers”. Sheena was Indrani’s daughter from her marriage to Siddharth Das.
