Tab’s on us: Orlando bar giving away beer until UCF wins game

The bar is located about 15 miles from campus and they “have taken great pride in the team and we very much consider ourselves a UCF bar, as we’re operated and staffed by graduates and even a few current students”, according to Whitacre.

The Basement released a promotion on Monday announcing they will be giving out free beer on game days from the time of kick off until the last whistle blows, until the Knights win their first game. The bar’s marketing director Jake Whitacre told ESPN it’s the latter. Kickoff is set for noon, and the beer will be flowing at The Basement.

It’s been a long month for UCF fans and one Orlando bar is trying to rectify the mood.

The Knights were stunned by Furman two weeks later, as its kicker drilled a school-record 55-yard field goal. If you are suddenly compelled to make a trip to Orlando this weekend for Saturday when the Knights play again, I couldn’t blame you.
