With the shadow of a massive and controversial trade deal looming over the campaign trail, Tom Mulcair visited a farm Saturday to press his contention that only a New Democrat government would stick up for Quebec’s dairy farmers.

On Friday, he will take part in a French-language debate – the fifth debate of the October. 19 campaign.

The Conservatives and the BQ are in a hard dance, vying for numerous same votes in Quebec and finding themselves in near-agreement over the surprise hot button cultural issue of the campaign: banning veils during citizenship ceremonies.
