Take a sneak peek at the new Xbox One UI
You will be able to play more than 100 Xbox 360 games on Xbox One including the additional Xbox One features such as screenshots, streaming and game DVR. In future more Xbox 360 titles will be available on Xbox One.
Mike Ybarra, Director of Program Management for Xbox, shared the details in a news post, calling the change the “New Xbox One Experience“. “Integrating the speed of Windows 10, the New Xbox One Experience will get you to popular gaming features up to 50 percent faster”, he wrote.
Home is being redesigned to make access faster and easier and a new Community section is being added to make the Xbox One more social. Major aspects like Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, a new Guide, a streamlined Home, and a more social Community are also included. If you use your Xbox for television, the One Guide will feature a picture-in-picture mode that allows you to browse channels and app lineups without pausing whatever it is you’re watching.
Although the console wars aren’t as heated as they used to be, Microsoft still has to face the facts: the Xbox One has struggled to keep up with the PS4’s sales, leaving the newest-generation Xbox with a lot of catching up to do heading into the 2015 holiday season.
Those opting in for the preview update will receive an invitation first via an Xbox Live message. The OneGuide is also being revamped to show instant, fullscreen TV listings, while the new Guide will offer shortcuts to essential apps such as Friends and Settings. As you can see in the header image, your Xbox One is going to be basically unrecognizable when you power it on after the update. While the update won’t be out until “early November”, members of the Xbox Preview program will get access soon.

Let’s say for some reason the power supply unit, that huge brick on the Xbox One chose to fail. New builds of the update are expected to roll out regularly as bug fixes and improvements are added overtime.
The new system UI will be rolling out in the Preview Program in the next few weeks.
