Trump continues to dangle 3rd party prospect
“One of the guys in suits explained it to me“. (Neither won the nomination.).
And then? “Replace with something terrific”, Trump said, explaining that the “terrific” would be handled by private companies competing in the private market. Only in the last few years has he seemed to find some cohesive ground in what he thinks and whom he supports.
Trump says he’s noticed a change in recent days in how the Republican National Committee and its chairman, Reince Priebus, are treating his candidacy.
Most Americans believe Trump is a horse’s behind, but he may just be a Trojan Horse for a Republican Party still trying to define itself.
The story, which the major media was slathering over, didn’t hurt Trump.
It’s true that this data might not even reflect all of his donations to super PACs, to which donations can be anonymous. That’s perhaps even more pronounced when you consider the share of his total giving by party. Would any other Republican candidate refuse to get behind Trump at the convention, and instead stage a dramatic walkout of delegates, in the Strom Thurmond “Dixiecrat” style? Trump is up huge, well outside the margin of error, in a state that twice voted for Sen.
However, the overall survey was much less positive for Trump.
Eventually, most Republican voters will reject the wealthiest of their contenders. “On the whole his numbers with minorities are pretty awful”. The breadth of those donations is huge, too – in 2014 alone, for example, Trump gave to 34 Republican politicians. And if you take a shot at Trump, get ready because he’s going to come back at you with both barrels, shouting you down if necessary.
Very Republican on tax cuts and various other economic policies; not so Republican on health care, some social issues and more.
Thus, in the next six months, Trump will have to commit some truly egregious blunder that costs him his present following. “He’ll win the battle and lose the war” …
– “No. I won’t go on record as saying that”. “It was a very human moment”.
The poll concluded that if Trump were to drop out of the race, Christie, Cruz, and Walker could each see a three to four percentage point improvement in New Hampshire. The two leading Democrats did better among Hispanics. The people who aren’t are voting for one of a number of other people. “If you’re getting high in Colorado today, enjoy it”, Christie, a Republican campaigning for the 2016 presidential nomination, said Tuesday during a town-hall meeting at the Salt Hill Pub in Newport, New Hampshire.
So why haven’t voters punished Trump for this?
Christie’s poor showing in the polls is costing him in the GOP money race.
Rick Perry is attacking Donald Trump’s credibility and branding the billionaire businessman “a cancer on conservatism”. They didn’t know him, they knew nothing. When there are 16 candidates in a crowded field, all fighting for the same small group of voters, they know they need the press more than anything else, because it makes them stand out as viable. Before that, one of the preferred candidates for his largesse was Hillary Rodham Clinton, who came to his third wedding in 2005.
During the CNBC interview, Christie was asked about Trump’s criticism of his proposal to overhaul social security.
