Donald Trump has released a statement clarifying his “blood” comments about Fox News commentator Megyn Kelly after the presidential candidate was disinvited from an event over the comments.
“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes”, he added.
Trump was attempting to write off the reaction to his mean-spirited comments as whiny liberal hand-wringing.
“I apologize when I’m wrong, but I haven’t been wrong”.
The flap is just the latest from Trump’s unconventional, insurgent campaign, which has excited many anti-establishment conservatives while confounding party leaders already facing the prospects of a bruising fight among 17 candidates.
Trump’s absence from Saturday’s program threatened to overshadow appearances by a number of his rivals, including Huckabee, Walker, Sen.
Donald Trump on Sunday took a shot at fellow 2016 GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, saying you “develop a massive headache” if you listen to the former Hewlett-Packard CEO.
“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes”. Do you know the unrest and do you know how – how devastated people were when I didn’t go there? “If you think a question is tough, imagine the pressure of actually being in the Oval Office”, she said. “Trump’s biggest woman problem is how does he convince women to trust him to keep America safe?”
“I don’t think we should reward vulgarity”. I’d also bet that a lot of American women are watching all this and seeing confirmation that on gender issues, the conservative movement is still stuck in the mindset of a previous century.
“If I comment on everything he says, my whole campaign will be consumed by it”, Rubio told NBC’s “Meet the Press”.
In June, she scored a plum assignment from her bosses: She was tapped to interview two of the Duggar daughters who admitted to being sexually fondled by their brother, Josh Duggar, all stars of the TLC reality series, “19 Kids and Counting”. But for Erickson, the “bridge too far” came when Trump took off after Fox anchor Megyn Kelly in retaliation for her hard questioning in Thursday night’s debate.
“Do wewant to win? Do we want to insult 53 percent of all voters?”
Other candidates bemoaned the challenge of preaching their message when all their precious free TV time is spent being asked about Trump. We’re really getting decimated on trade deals, everything we do.
The campaign claimed that the 900 activists who had wanted to hear from Trump on Saturday evening were contacting the campaign to complain about Erickson and others who “are trying to be so politically correct”.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich also pushed back against Trump on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday.
Yet Trump remains a towering presence in the 17-candidate field, and his supporters at the RedState event – along with several other uncommitted attendees – said the latest flap simply reaffirms why his uncompromising approach appeals to voters who are disgusted with conventional politicians, including those in the GOP.
“She gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions”.
“I think every one candidate should treat everyone with civility and respect”.
“I cherish women. I want to help women”.
It seems that a certain segment of the Republican base is shocked, shocked to discover that GOP frontrunner Donald Trump is a crass, misogynistic blowhard. A year after that, she was hired by Fox News chief Roger Ailes.
