“I could be persuaded”. But when it became clear Kavanaugh would likely be named to the high court, she said she faced a hard choice.
Blasey Ford said Brett Kavanaugh allegedly assaulted her in 1982, according to her testimony.
“I have had a lot of false charges against me”, Trump said at a press conference in NY, adding that he sees the Kavanaugh allegations “differently than someone sitting at home”.
Dr Ford claims Mr Kavanaugh tried to force himself on her at a party in the 1980s.
Kavanaugh released a statement denying the new charges. He has denied all the allegations. She continued to tell the committee what allegedly happened during a high school party during the summer of 1982, which she has described several times before this hearing.
In this regard, the committee has also questioned Kavanaugh about a series of anonymous allegations, including a physical assault on a woman in the 1990s.

Careful not to alienate female voters ahead of the November mid-term elections, Trump has been relatively measured in his responses to the allegations against his nominee.
“Absolutely not”, Ms. Blasey Ford said.
Leading up to Thursday’s hearing, many conservatives have dismissed Ford’s accusations because they say it has taken too long for her to come forward or because they believe it is possible for her to have gotten some of the details of her alleged attack wrong over the course of decades. “She’s here just to say her piece and speak to Kavanaugh’s character and that’s it”. She claimed that he thrust his penis into her face and forced her to touch it when she pushed it away. This is a smear, plain and simple.
“Coordinated and well-funded effort to destroy my good name, and destroy my family, will not drive me out”. “The second accuser doesn’t even know – thinks maybe it was him, maybe not”.
She said she saw Mr Kavanaugh behave as a “mean drunk” at the parties. But under the committee’s procedures, the career prosecutor was limited to five minutes at a time, interspersed between Democrats’ questions, creating a choppy effect as she tried piecing together the story.
Feinstein also brought up two Kavanaugh accusers who were not present: Debbie Ramirez and Julie Swetnick. Judge has said he doesn’t remember the incident and has declined to appear before the panel.
Along with the polygraph examination, Ford and her attorneys sent over four signed declarations late Tuesday from people she told about the alleged sexual assault over the years in hopes to support her claims.
Ford has said Kavanaugh friend Mark Judge was also in the room.
“It’s ridiculous. Total Twilight Zone”.
President Donald Trump selected Judge Kavanaugh to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, who was a “swing” vote on the Supreme Court and often sided with liberal justices on key cases.
While Republicans want to move forward, they are mindful of the fallout if they do not take the accusations seriously. According to Trump, Senate Democrats, who he said would be attacking and opposing Kavanaugh even if the Federal Bureau of Investigation had cleared his name.
And on Wednesday, a woman represented by Mr Avenatti – who shot to fame as the lawyer taking on the president for porn actress Stormy Daniels – made another accusation of misconduct.
