Trump to report to jury duty in New York on Monday

The antipathy evidenced by the Fox anchors (yes, Megyn Kelly in particular) toward Trump during the debate was painfully evident and had the GOP’s fingerprints all over it – but let me pose this question: A week later, don’t you think we have bigger fish to fry than the Donald Trump-Megyn Kelly feud?

The day after Trump’s comment, Megyn Kelly addressed it on the air.

Meanwhile, far from getting out of the risky business of moderating Republican primary debates, Kelly will be front and center at the next Fox News debate in January-with or without The Donald.

“I have some of the most brilliant people in the country working on tax”, he said.

Kelly began a 10-day vacation after her Wednesday night broadcast.

The huge ratings spike did lead to a bump in polls for Trump, but Fox News commentator and Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Charles Krauthammer says that Trump came undone during the debate. “She’s a lightweight”, Trump told CNN’s Don Lemon, according to CNN. “If you think a question is tough, imagine the pressure of actually being in the Oval Office”. During the last election cycle, they used a good old-fashioned bimbo eruption to eliminate Herman Cain; at the time, he was perceived as a credible threat by the GOP establishment, as is Trump at present.

This matches the timeline that sources described earlier this week.

Trump also personally weighed in on Kelly. Additionally, the comments by Trump got him disinvited from a previous scheduled speech in Atlanta this past Saturday before the RedState Gathering, by RedState Editor Erick Erickson, who said, “If your standard-bearer has to resort to that”, referring to Trump’s attacks on Kelly, “we need a new standard-bearer”.

According to the sources, Ailes then called Trump and had the heated but brief conversation that resulted in the “truce”.

It added, “Anyone who knows Roger is aware of how historically and consistently loyal he is to all of his talent and how he protects them at all costs”. Just ask my assistant.

Trump indicated that is partly why he spurned an interview request from Wallace and agreed to sit down this Sunday with Wallace’s rival Sunday morning host, Chuck Todd of NBC.
