White House says would oppose Congress defunding Planned Parenthood
Today a Los Angeles Superior Court order issued Tuesday prohibits the Center for Medical Progress from releasing any video of three high-ranking StemExpress officials taken at a restaurant in May.
Gov. Rick Scott ordered the state to immediately investigate all Florida Planned Parenthood offices that perform abortions on Wednesday. In the wake of the videos, the Senate is scheduled to vote before its August recess on a Republican-led attempt to block federal aid to Planned Parenthood, notes The Times.
David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress-which released the videos-said it follows all applicable laws when making the videos that he called investigative journalism.
Dozens of demonstrators called for a Congressional investigation into Planned Parenthood Thursday afternoon following the release of a series of controversial videos.
It is unfortunate that anti-abortion organizations are continuing a smear campaign against Planned Parenthood and their patients in California.
Staff members at the Planned Parenthood near University Avenue stepped outside to spread their own message: “Health Care Happens Here”.
Planned Parenthood complained that the videos were heavily edited, and insists that fetal tissue transactions are not intended to raise cash, but to cover expenses and allow for scientific research.
The group is alleging that Planned Parenthood sells fetal organs for profit, which would be a felony, but Planned Parenthood has said it donates tissue for scientific research and is only reimbursed for the associated expenses, which is legal.
Planned Parenthood reportedly receives 0 million in annual federal funding. It was very clear that the individuals in that video were talking about pricing and profiteering on donation of tissue, Perry said. “It would instead direct taxpayer dollars to other, more reputable providers like the almost 1,200 federally qualified health centers across the country that provide preventive care to low-income and vulnerable populations without performing abortions”.
P.P.S. Planned Parenthood is denying that its own employees said the things we can hear them say, and that’s good enough for the White House.
“The chirpy nonchalance with which these Planned Parenthood executives talk about dismembering and pricing unborn children is both sickening and deplorable”, she told LifeNews.
