Windows 10 Mobile will soon support Xiaomi smartphones
When Microsoft, earlier this year, announced Xiaomi as its testing partner for Windows 10 on smartphones (now dubbed Windows 10 Mobile), the announcement left a lot of people wondering as to the extent of the partnership between the two companies.
According to the Engadget, the new Office Mobile apps are touch friendly version of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and are available for download from the Windows Store.
So a small number of beta testers were invited to download and install a special Windows 10 Mobile ROM on their Xiaomi Mi4 handsets.
Harry Shum, the company’s executive vice president, said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua that Windows 10 will run across all device types, including personal computers (PC) and mobile phones to Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. The news comes from a known Chinese analyst Pan Jiutang who revealed that a Windows 10 tablet is in the pipeline.
What’s more, in his tweets, Belfiore hinted towards the fact that multiple Android devices would soon be able to run the mobile version of Windows 10, not only Xiaomi.
Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturer in China.
