Xbox 360 cloud storage limit increased to 2GB
The Xbox 360 didn’t start out with the ability to store video game saves in the cloud, but Microsoft added it in with a subsequent release. But while its gaming spotlight has been shining mostly on the Xbox One in recent months, the company has also been quietly working on a system update for its Xbox 360, which it’s released today. Microsoft points out that you can use this to bring your Xbox 360 saves to Xbox One for supports backwards-compatible titles. Now, when you receive an Xbox Live Marketplace code in a message, you can redeem the code directly from that message using a new “Redeem Code” button.
“Yes, Edge will be coming to Xbox One…” is what the developer had to say on the matter, rather limited but it’s enough to get fans very excited. It will also be similar to the Xbox One version except it won’t be on your main dashboard and instead under the social tab on the menu.
Users can access their movie and TV collection from Microsoft Movies & TV, as well as the Music in Groove Music. A new update for the system has hit the system, and it’s actually fairly extensive.
Microsoft warns that those testing the new Xbox One experience may encounter issues with games, apps and even the Xbox One itself.
It also lets you see what your friends are playing on Xbox One, a feature that has taken nearly two years to arrive. This isn’t a problem for users that routinely connect to Xbox Live from home, but is a big problem in public spaces and hotels, where agreeing to Terms of Service is a must.
Last in the list of newly announced features was the ability to Redeem Codes right from Messages.
While much of Microsoft’s attention these days is expectedly paid to Xbox One, that doesn’t mean the company is finished supporting the Xbox 360.
