You Can Buy Amazon’s New Super-Cheap Tablet in a 6-Pack
Amazon entered the tablet market back in 2011, and it seems like they are planning to make history once again with their new tablet lineup. The six packs are $250, which means you’re getting a free tablet.
The new tablet features a 1024 x 600 seven-inch display with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and rear and front cameras. Amazon seems to be pitching the Fire strictly as an entertainment device, noting that it’s great for watching movies or reading books.
As their names suggest the new Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10 tablets sport high definition display and equally attractive starting price tags at $149.99 (for 8GB of storage) and $229.99 (for 16GB of storage) respectively.
A week after Apple introduced enhancements to its connected TV devices, Amazon has offered up its own improvements to its new Fire TV and Fire TV stick. Amazon is even trying to tempt people to buy in bulk by offering them the chance to buy five and get a sixth tablet for free. “Today, we’re excited to expand gaming on Fire TV by providing a new option – Fire TV Gaming Edition – for customers and families who are looking for affordable and high-quality gaming”, said Peter Larsen, Vice President, Amazon Devices.
We’ve been hearing rumors of a low-end Amazon tablet and the 7-inch tablet has just been officially unwrapped. It may cost twice as much at $100 (though still priced $50 lower than last year’s model), but you get a protective case and a two-year guarantee of a replacement if your kids break anything.
It’s called Fire and costs £49.99 with an actually quite impressive spec. It has a 7-inch IPS display, quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 128GB microSD support and the latest version of the Fire OS software. It preorders at $99.99.
As well as launching an all-new budget tablet, Amazon updated its 8-inch and 10-inch Fire Tablet range as well as updating its Fire Kids Edition tablet.
All you really need is the Amazon TV Fire Stick
