Tom Cruise’s Original ‘Mission Impossible’ Suspension Suit Up For Auction
This movie is pure summer entertainment and, when that iconic theme song starts cranking, it’s hard to keep yourself from getting sucked right along into it. Just sit back, go along for the ride and promise not to think too much about it. Mission accomplished.
At this point, there are more questions than answers regarding the sequel – about the plot, the cast, the director – but it’s clear why producers are moving forward so quickly with a followup. The fifth installment, entitled “Rogue Nation“, will be out in theaters on July 31. The original “Mission: Impossible” hit theaters back in 1996, and follow-up installments launched in 2000, 2006, and 2011 before this summer’s release.
The four films respectively involved the talents of directors Brian De Palma, John Woo, J.J. Abrams, and David Ellison.
The Mission: Impossible franchise has already grossed over $2 billion worldwide.
Throughout the Mission: Impossible series, Cruise’s Ethan Hunt has remained a total cipher. The actor is also one of the producers for Mission: Impossible 5. “We have such fun characters in the movie”. The set comes mounted on a stand inscribed with “Tom Cruise Mission Impossible C.I.A. Langley Costume”. Six minutes into interview, the actor revealed that work has begun on the sequel to Mission: Impossible 5.
It didn’t always seem that way-when Ghost Protocol was released, Renner’s casting seemed to indicate that Paramount was clearing the way for a baton pass to a younger star, as the aging Cruise (now 53 years old) wouldn’t be able to subject his body to such rigors forever.
