Simon Cowell Thinks One Direction’s Break Is ‘A Healthy Thing’
It is Louis Tomlinson who, debatably, took it the hardest venting his frustrations when Zayn Malik left One Direction.
And like the rest of us, Cowell hopes that the guys reunite after their time away from the spotlight, but he’s not going to be the one pressuring them to do so.
Besides the tumultuous year One Direction’s had, there’s also the Twitter drama he occasionally dabbles in, the charitable causes he admiringly undertakes, and that little matter of having a baby on the way.
The show has been a great concern for the group of course since it has been a big part of their careers but it doesn’t necessarily mean that Tomlinson has been picked as a judge just yet.
Claiming that he already knew that this break was coming, the 55-year-old Cowell said that he wishes that the group stays together, but he will not force them, as he has always given them freedom to make their own decisions.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the “X Factor” launch at the Picturehouse Central cinema in London last night (08.26.15), he said: “The record they’ve delivered to us, I honestly think is the best album that they’ve ever made and it’s wonderful”. “They’re nice guys and they’re loyal so it’ll be fine”.
While Cheryl added: “This is 5 years, literally non stop I’m amazed they’ve done it for so long”.
The band recently announced that they would be taking 2016 off as a “hiatus”; something Cowell said had been in the pipeline for months.
“I hope [they come back] but it’s not going to be because of any pressure from me”.
At least, if those rumors about him joining “The X Factor” are true.
