Bill Cosby Got His Quaaludes From A Gynecologist, New Documents Have Revealed
During the deposition, Cosby denies meeting Green during a singing audition arranged by Amar.
The accuser’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, stated the choice cleared the best way for the litigation introduced by Judy Huth, now in her 50s, to proceed, and that she meant to take Cosby’s sworn deposition inside the subsequent 30 days.
Cosby’s legal team are not happy that his deposition was released by a judge to the New York Times, and claim it was a “mockery” of a confidentiality agreement that formed part of a settlement, according to NBC News.
Add the 1971 Grammy-winning album Bill Cosby Talks to Kids About Drugs to the list of creepy career caveats.
Lawyers representing the Western Massachusetts comedian argued in court filings this week that the transcripts do not mean he “admitted to rape”.
“Indeed, Quaaludes were a highly popular recreational drug in the 1970’s, labeled in slang as “disco biscuits, ‘ and known for their capacity to increase sexual arousal. Yet, upon the unsealing of those excerpts, the media immediately pounced, inaccurately labeling the released testimony as Defendant’s “confession” of ‘drugging” women and assaulting them”.
In 1966, Amar moved to California and began practicing at a hospital in Los Angeles.
Several years later, Amar met the operator of an ambulance service, who recruited him to work for “Women Who Help Women”, an organisation that provided abortions. “In 1974, Amar appeared shirtless in Ebony magazine hawking a weight-loss product called the “‘5 Minute Body Shaper”.
There are also reports of multiple botched procedures that occurred when Amar was working as a plastic surgeon, including one in which a woman’s breast implant burst through her stitches.
California disciplinary records for Amar revealed that he often signed off on “dangerous” drugs without even seeing the patient. He served 18 months of criminal probation. (A spokeswoman for the Maryland Board of Physicians said she was unable to provide further information.).
Later, Amar pleaded guilty to income tax evasion and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, as he owed more than $4million, with $2.4million due to the Internal Revenue Service.
