Ed Sheeran pens 50 songs for new album
LONDON DJ David Zowie’s debut single “House Every Weekend” climbed 51 places to claim top spot in the first British pop chart to be released on a Friday, a change from the traditional Sunday slot.
Ed Sheeran has revealed that he has already written fifty songs for his next album but we won’t be hearing them any time soon as he doesn’t plan to release it for another year and a half. “It’s overwhelming and I’m thankful to everyone that’s supported the track, all the DJs that have spun the track”.
Finally, The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes enters the chart at number 14 with his debut solo single “Kiss Me Quick” while Pharrell’s “Freedom” vaults 51 places to 36.
“It’s just an absolutely unbelievable moment, thank you. When you have a whole company depending on one thing, if I don’t release the goods, it’s going to be awkward”.
The 24-year-old chart-topper is working hard on his follow-up to the multi-platinum selling album X and told United Kingdom tabloid The Daily Star that he already has over 40 songs penned.
David Zowie has beaten Years & Years to number one on the inaugural Friday singles chart. “I go to a lot of awards shows and end up not really picking up anything up, so every time I get one, I treasure it. I don’t do this for the awards, but I do like having a mantelpiece full of stuff like this”.
Also new in the Top 10 at today’s midweek point is Krept and Konan’s album “The Long Way Home”, new at Number Two, while Saint Raymond and Lucy Rose are new at Seven and Nine respectively.
