Google to offer shared Play Music Family accounts, rumor indicates
Those of you with kids and a significant other know the struggle when it comes to streaming music services.
Will you be rocking this immediately? Google Play Music hasn’t had one up till now so it does make sense that Google is finally jumping on the bandwagon.
According to a new report out this morning from Android Police, Google is planning to launch a new Google Play Music All Access family plan at tomorrow’s event.
Tomorrow, September 29th, is going to be a big day for Google and fans, especially those of the Nexus variety. You can change your monthly plan and spring for the family plan if you have two or more people in your household that you’d share Apple Music with.
After that head down to “subscriptions” and there’s a little toggle called “automatic renewal” that you want to switch to off. It also means an end to the frustration that comes from finding out someone added Justin Bieber tracks to your playlist.
Okay, once you’re in your Apple ID account, tap on “View Apple ID”.
This is definitely strategic pricing because Google’s biggest competitor, Apple, has their streaming service priced the exact same: six family members for $14.99 a month. From there, the price goes up – $19.99/month for three users, $24.99/month for four users, and $29.99/month for five users.
If you’re unfamiliar with Google Play Music, it’s essentially Google’s answer to the likes of Spotify and Apple Music, and has been running for a few years now.
