One Direction to fans: don’t call it a break-up
One Direction is taking four different directions starting March 2016 as the popular boy band announced plans to take on an extended hiatus to pursue personal projects. And, as you’d expect, there were plenty of amusing / sad / interesting reactions.
Well the rumors suggest that apparently the One Direction stars may part ways with the band next year i.e. 2016. It’s a weird year for 1D; singer Zayn Malik left the five-piece after taking a stress related break from live duties partway through the tour in March (making Four’s title doubly fortuitous), and just a few weeks ago the group unveiled “Drag Me Down“, its first post-Zayn outing and the lead single for an as-yet-untitled fifth album. It will surely be interesting to see which solo albums do members Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Niall Horan come up with.
What are your thoughts on the One Direction’s hiatus? Though the group is soon to release its fifth album, it will not tour to support it.
They go on to quote an insider that told The Sun, “The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boy band”.
There has been no confirmation from the band themselves or their representatives, so as with any rumour, this one needs to be taken with a grain of salt. “And there’s no reason why they can’t have lifetime careers both as a group and working on their own solo projects – just like the Stones”. They are very aware that they are able to work on their own stuff as well as remain together. “There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100-percent behind the decision”. It seems like after Zayn Malik going ahead with his solo career, the other band members are also following the suite. “It is definitely not a split and they fully intend to get back together at some time in the future”.
A spokesman for the band said: “We don’t comment on speculation”.
